OUF Guild Charter

Article I. Code of Conduct

    Section A. Standards

Order of the Unifying Force is a casual guild so we do not have overly strict rules of behaviour but common sense and respect is required.

    1. Be respectful and courteous to your fellow members.
    2. Be respectful to other players in Star Wars: The Old Republic.
    3. You represent the guild when bearing its name - so keep that in mind when interacting with others.
    4. Do not pressure your fellow members to play the game in any particular fashion.
    5. Asking excessively for items, help, groups or assistance is frowned upon.
    6. Members are expected to abide by the decisions made by the Elders.
    7. Members are always free to voice any concerns they have in an appropriate manner, using discretion when necessary.
    8. When disagreements, arguments and personality clashes cause issues please approach an Elder so we can mediate and resolve the issue avoiding unnecessary drama.

    Section B. Forum Posting Guidelines

    2. Never post using numbers in place of letters. Examples of what are not acceptable are: 'm8', 'sum1' and '2'.

    4. Write in full sentences and use paragraph breaks when appropriate.
    5. Do not swear unless it fits the post - such instances will be extremely rare.
    6. Use appropriate punctuation.
    7. Do not post in all capital letters or use excessive punctuation.
    8. Do not double post excessively. Make use of the edit function.

    Section C. Forum Posting Rules

This is a collection of guidelines for the user regarding expected conduct and behavior while using the website.
It violates the entire community when you engage in any of the following behaviors:

    1. Harass, threaten, embarrass, or do anything else to another member or guest that is unwanted. This includes: saying bad things about members or guests, repeatedly sending them unwanted messages, attacking their race, sexual orientation, religion or heritage. Remember: if you disagree with someone, keep your response targeted at the subject, not the person.
    2. Transmit or facilitate distribution of content that is harmful, abusive, racially or ethnically offensive, vulgar, sexually explicit, defamatory, infringing, invasive of personal privacy or publicity rights, or in a reasonable person's view, objectionable. Hate speech is not tolerated.
    3. Do not troll. Any post where the author is knowingly trying to arouse overly strong negative and emotional responses for mere shock value will be removed and any accounts made with this sole intent will be immediately and permanently suspended.
    4. Posts deemed inappropriate to a particular forum will be moved to a more appropriate forum or even removed completely depending on the nature of the post. This is done to facilitate proper communication on the forums and allow for the flow of conversation. Posts that have been removed are not to be reposted.
    5. Impersonate another person (including celebrities), attempt to get a password, account information, or private information from a member or any other user on the OUF forum. Remember do not give your password or user information out to anyone.
    6. Upload any software or content that you do not own or have permission to freely distribute
    7. Promote or encourage any illegal activity including hacking, cracking or distribution of counterfeit software.
    8. Upload files that contain a virus or corrupted data.
    9. Post messages for any purpose other than personal communication, including without limitation: advertising or promotional messaging, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or other commercial activities.
    10. Post or communicate any player’s real-world personal information within the OUF website and forums.
    11. You may not give false information or intentionally hide any information when registering for your OUF forum account. Posting profanity or otherwise objectionable content in your profile is also prohibited. You are responsible to make sure your account information, especially your email address, is up-to-date.
    12. If you are suspended, it is forbidden to create and use an alternate account. If your account is suspended, and you use an alternate account to post, the alternate account will be permanently suspended, and your suspension will be lengthened.
    13. Post threads on the guild site, or discuss in an in-game guild public chat, topics that are considered controversial in nature. Topics include, but are not limited to politics & religion.

Article II. Membership

    Section A. Policies

    1. We are currently recruiting. We have no predetermined membership limits. However we may occasionally take breaks from recruiting new members.
    2. We do not accept characters with silly names or ones using l33t sp33k.
    3. We ask that you use your main characters name as your forum name whenever possible. Ask an Elder to have your forum name changed if required.
    4. Members are asked to visit the guild forum regularly to keep up to date with events and any changes that require their attention.
    5. Any member can take a leave of absence for any amount of time and retain membership. All we ask is that we are kept informed as to the status of that member.
    6. If you feel you are not really suited to the guild, please contact any guild Elder so you can be removed from the forum roster.
    7. We require all members to hold membership in this guild only when playing Republic characters on the Ajunta Pall server.

    Section B. Application Process

As a casual, family oriented guild we look for respectful mature people who can enjoy the game and have a laugh with the guild.

    1. Contact an Elder ingame or alternatively contact any OUF member ingame and ask them to get you in touch with an Elder.
    2. Once an Elder has added you to the guild ingame you will be ranked 'applicant' and have to come to the forums and create a forum account (if you haven't already done so).
    3. Once you have a forum account you must then create a thread in the Introductions section of the forums. (see the Read me post in the introductions section for detailed instructions).
    4. After you have created your introduction thread the Elders will assess you ingame and on the forums over time to determine when you qualify to move up from the Applicant rank and become a full member.

    Section C. Promotions

    1. After joining the guild and moving up from the Applicant rank, you will be granted the rank of Adept. In order to progress within the guild, you must interact with the other members, get to know us and let us get to know you.
    2. As long as you are a helpful and supportive member of the guild you will always be welcome in the guild. If you feel that you have the time, skills, and dedication required to serve as a Paragon then you may PM an Elder to volunteer. The Elders will then discuss and either approve or deny your request to become a Paragon based on whether you are an active guild member that shows maturity and also supports guild activities.
    3. If you do not wish to be involved in the organizational aspects of the guild and its activities then you need take no action. You will remain an Adept and no guild activity will be prohibited to you.
